Lolita fashion went from natural hair to large wigs with twin tails and split colour wigs. I'm happy to see more natural coloured wigs come to the fold these days. But early non-brand shops were very important turning points in Lolita history!caro-chanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02816959125315317615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6023134183255884485.post-50898619373997189892013-07-22T15:03:02.499-07:002013-07-22T15:03:02.499-07:00To be fair, Natural Kei is actually where Lolita s...To be fair, Natural Kei is actually where Lolita sort of got it's roots from, which shares a lot in common with both Dolly and Mori, so it's not unusual to think that the 4 might share trends and be inspired by each other. After all, many Lolitas are also interested in one of the other fashions!

The original designer of Meta (who's name escapes me at the moment!) actually left meta to start a Natural Kei brand and a lot of her designs for her new brand have a lot of similar designs to older Meta pieces. caro-chanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02816959125315317615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6023134183255884485.post-58955839349598009032013-07-22T14:58:09.194-07:002013-07-22T14:58:09.194-07:00The community is just as important as the fashion ...The community is just as important as the fashion a lot of times! And I do agree that the Frill convention was a really important moment in Lolita history! I contemplated adding it, but I thought it might be too soon to tell what sort of impact it might have! caro-chanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02816959125315317615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6023134183255884485.post-28600473303981000772013-07-19T17:27:25.587-07:002013-07-19T17:27:25.587-07:00I think one major Lolita fashion turning point is ...I think one major Lolita fashion turning point is when the Frills convention became an official all Lolita convention. Classical prints and all over sublimation prints are a general fashion trend that's been happening in the business that JetJ knew perfectly to pick up on while making it in their style specifically. It's a trend that also seems to keep carrying on in fashion in general, as I'm asked to do more prints like that for seasons in the upcoming year still for big brands at work.

I agree on the rise of Taobao and the rise of indie brands that customized for international customers as being big turning points. I also think that the careers of Nana Kitade and Kanon Wakeshima could be important turning points, as they were the first non-VK musical artists in the style that I can think off, pulling the look further away from Visual Kei culture in the eyes if the music industry.Christine Marie de la Rosahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03617984604527654779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6023134183255884485.post-22945087640541931072013-07-19T11:06:56.033-07:002013-07-19T11:06:56.033-07:00This was really fun to read! I wonder if Lolita helped influence other styles that have been popping up like Dolly/Mori/Natural/ Kei.
