Etsy Treasuries Inspired By Fellow Lolita Bloggers

A few weeks ago I discovered the joy of making Etsy Treasuries. If you don't know what they are, an Etsy Treasury is simply a collection of cute things to be found on Etsy, arranged with some sort of theme in mind.

I decided to smash two of my favorite things together, blogging and Lolita, to create a few Etsy Treasuries inspired by a few fellow Lolita bloggers! Can you guess who these Treasuries are inspired by? Give them a glance over and then try to guess!

Do you give up? The first two should be pretty easy. Blue, White, & Bronze is inspired by Miss Lumpy, which should be evident by the copious amounts of blue, as well as all the vintage hats and flowers. Pink Kei is inspired by Victoria Suzanne of Lolita Charm, if all the pink, fairy kei, and cute dog accessories didn't make it obvious enough. Finally, Red Fox might be a bit of a head-scratcher to some, but it's inspired by my friend Erica's blog, Darkly Darling. These were all really fun to make, and maybe sometime in the future I'll try making a few more Lolita blog inspired Etsy Treasuries!

Day 5- 10 items from your wishlist.
My wishlist is hardly a static thing, it changes pretty much all the time, and I've really never been one for dream dresses that I pine away for years over. At the moment I'm actually not really looking for anything that I feel like my closet is missing, but instead I'm buying much older pieces that feel nostalgic, or represent, to me, the ideal old school aesthetic. That being said, a lot of the follow items would fall into that category!

Angelic Pretty Cross OP, I would loooove to own this in black! I think this is the archetypal Gothic Lolita dress, even though it's Angelic Pretty.

Metamorphose Antique Bouquet. Any color, and any of the various releases of this dress, although I would love the bonnet, capelet, skirt set,

I forget the name of this Baby dress! I love it in the red colorway, but black and pink is nice too. It's like the ultimate brand whore dress XD

OK, so I don't know the names of most prints I like! I usually have to look them up. I've always wanted this Baby dress, and I regret, years ago, not buying it when I had the chance.

Angelic Pretty Heart Cut-out. Oh God, it's so tacky! I can't help but love it.

Any of Angelic Pretty's older classic floral releases!

I love Metamorphose's swan logo, and, while it's a little plain, I've been dying to get my hands on one of their pieces featuring the embroidery of it around the hem.

I sort of love Lolita aprons, and I really like this Meta one because it says "METAMORPHOSE" in giant letters across the chest. I loved the fact that older brand releases often printed their name hugely across their pieces.

Baby's Marie Antoinette, in red. It seems like whenever I have the cash to spare for this I can never find it, and then as soon as I go broke, someone finds my super old WTB posts and offers it to me T_T

Baby's Afternoon Tea, or really, just like with Angelic Pretty, any of Baby's older classic floral prints.

  1. ...I'm pretty sure the blue dress from the treasury inspired by Miss Lumpy is a Jesus Diamante dress. Someone's been trying to sell it on the comm_sales for a while, the pictures are the exact same. 8/ Wouldn't that mean she can't sell it on etsy? Unless it's vintage or something.

  2. I absolutely love the AP cross dress- it's one of my dream pieces, too, though I'll probably never own it. I'm also a huge fan of Meta's Antique Bouquet series (and its numerous reincarnations). I used to have the bolero/skirt/bonnet set, but much to my dismay, it didn't fit me then and probably never will :( Oh, well! I've been trying to content myself with Baby and AP's older floral releases, and luckily they're dirt cheap on Y!J :D

  3. Is it really? I haven't been on the comm_sales in a while so I wouldn't be able to recognize it! Well, I've taken it off the list, because that's just not fair. It's definitely not vintage XD I believe Etsy's definition of vintage is at least 25 years old.

  4. I'll probably never fit the cross dress if I ever find it XD I still would kill to have something similar! If I could even find a couple of pretty lace cross appliques I'd try to hunt down a similarly styled dress and just make my own.

I still haven't ventured into Y!J, I'm sort of afraid of the irreversible damage it would probably do to my wallet.

  5. Looking at the pattern, I think there may be a similar one in one of my Gosu Rori mooks, and I can't imagine that cross lace appliques would be hard to make~ If my experiments in making cross appliques are successful, I'd be happy to whip up a couple for you :)

If you go in with a list and a ton of self-control, you can find a ton of great deals. When I browse randomly, though, I tend to get in trouble!

  6. The brand whore dress is apparently just called Border Hem Scalloped jsk: http://hellolace.net/wardrobe/baby-the-stars-shine-bright/type/jsk/item/212/ which is a super disappointing name for such an overly-branded dress! The white dress just under it is Flower and Ribbon Salon Music: http://hellolace.net/wardrobe/baby-the-stars-shine-bright/type/jsk/item/330/ which always surprises me because I forget there are musical instruments in with the flowers haha.

I was so surprised that cross-lace dress is Angelic Pretty! I think they've changed much more drastically than other brands over the years. Their stuff from years and years ago looks nothing like what they make now!

  7. Angelic Pretty Heart Cut-out! *love love love* I suffer from a NEED to have gaudy/tacky things, it's so terrible. When I go to visit my Mom she always has a little something for me. She will be all like, "This looked so awful, I knew you would love it!" And, sadly, I always do! Hee hee!

  11. I think  the first BtssB jsk is called "poker" or an other stuff like this. Marie-Antoinette is also one of my dream dress . Too cute and classy<3
Angelic Pretty's first is so old school .It may be from early 2000's, isn't it? I love this style, especially in red!!!
I think I've saw some Antik bouquet not so far in egl sales...

  12. ohh cute thanks for shout-out! I love the Lady Lovelylocks pillow case, so hard to find! I love the Swan logo dress, I wish Metamorphose did more with their beautiful logo... like when they did such cute school and leather satchel bags! I've always wanted one of those, so classy.

  13. One daaay! Or a replica at least!

Yes! I was secretly making treasuries for people XD Hoping they wouldn't find out beforehand and think I was a creepy for it. I tried very hard to make it fit you XD EVEN THE EYESHADOW IS CALLED "WANDERLUST" GET IT?! BECAUSE YOU TRAVEL TO AWESOME PLACES!?

Haha, if you do buy something, buy that medical print. It's so awesome! And expensive!

  14. I always think of you when I see that Red AP dress with the crosses!! I really hope you get it!

And--! I got a treasury? I Love it! *___* I am going to buy EVERYTHING, hahaha!

  15. I love those school bags! I am always trying to find some occasion where I can decide to treat myself to hunting one down and spending the hundreds of dollars that they tend to cost on it XD The occasion never quite arrives though!

  16. Marie Antoinette is just such a gorgeous dress! It's elegant, and cute, but not completely over-the-top, I think it's one of Baby's most... Btssb-y pieces XD It just seems like everything they stand for all wrapped up in one dress.

I believe the first AP cross dress is actually from 2000 or 2001, as well as the heart cut-out dress if I'm not mistaken. I'm a complete sucker for early 2000 AP, it was definitely my favorite era of theirs!

  17. Ooooh hooo, can you? I am pretty much all thumbs and frustration when it comes to  crochet, and would probably just resort to crossing two pieces of ribbon. I would gladly commission you for a couple crosses (oooh offwhite would be amazing. I <3 offwhite and black!) if you can figure them out! Message me on LJ if you do manage to make some! I sometimes dont check my friends page for weeks and might miss it if you post just an entry!

  18. Very awesome :D I hope it's as fantastic as it looks!! I would have been all over it, but I'm currently busy accidentally dying my not-as-fabulous dessert print pillowcases pink from my new red hair color. I'd probably cry if I ruined a Lady Lovely Locks pillowcase!

  19. Ahahaha!! I'm so flattered to have inspired your treasury! It's funny, when I saw it on Etsy I was like "Why do I want everything here T_____T;;"... and now I know that that was on purpose. The Red Fox treasury is lovely as well!

  20. Oh, quick note- it looks like the links to the bloggers are broken in the post!

  21. Awesome treasuries! I know I've visited Miss Lumpy's blog before, but the other two are new to me and I'll have to check them out.

  22. I have no idea how those links got so weird D: I am using that obnoxious new blogger publisher and I seriously think it does weird things sometimes.

I guess I made the treasury right if you like everything in it XD Yours was really fun to make because I completely adore a lot of these things myself!

  23. Thank you for the links! I do agree that the name of the first link is so disappointing XD I guess that was before giving dresses crazy names was really a thing though.

AP has gone through such a crazy amount of change! It's so weird because a lot of the older dresses, especially the classical floral ones, still have a very AP-ish style, but are just so completely different from anything being released now.

  24. HNNNG and that Wanderlust eyeshadow would be so perfect for Vkei cosplays! *___* *one track mind* I think it all fits me really well~ I'd like to share it on my blog too if you don't mind, but can't figure out where you got the table widget thing. So fancy!

That medical print would fit in really well with my Diru posters. ;___; Then my mom really won't go in my room. ... let's buy it! xD

  25. http://www.craftcult.com/treasury_widget.php?ref=tw_link The widget is from here! I have no idea why Etsy doesn't have a widget like this of their own!

  26. I just came across one of AP's older floral dresses on Mbok while reading this (haha!). I know you're not a huge fan of buying from places that require a shopping service, but I thought you might be interested in the link. The price is still SUPER low, only 3,200 yen!
In case you are, here's the link: http://www.mbok.jp/item/item_314024518.html?_RC_SRC=PI,1

(sorry if this post seems kinda pushy. I just get really excited when I find cool pieces like this for even cooler prices! :P )
